"Discovering Your Original Design"

I fully believe that if you want to find God's ultimate purpose for your life, you must start with looking at the BLUEPRINT that holds your ORIGINAL DESIGN. The Bible clearly teaches three mind-blowing principles:

• As you were formed as early as within your mother's womb, every fabric of your being was "knit together."
• And even long before that, the work of your life was planned - God imagined YOUR unique purpose!
• Since you were created by God, you are a MASTERPIECE!

You can find these principles in many places throughout scripture, but the most clearly communicated are:

Genesis 1:26-27 | Psalm 139:13-14 | Ephesians 2:10

You were DESIGNED with a purpose in mind by an intelligent creator forging into your DNA a blueprint determining your very personality, desires, values and mission. Deep within the blueprint is the answer to DISCOVERING what God had in mind for you (brace yourself...)

Before Your Time Began

WHAT? Are you Kidding Me? Could that really be true?

Well. I'm not going to answer that question for you. I'm going to see what you discover as we journey through this course together.

For me, the answer came in Memphis about 12 years ago. There was something that happened when I began to uncover unique places inside of me - gifts, desires, dreams - that convinced me of the answer I had been looking for for many years.

My goal in this course is to take you along a similar path, utilizing similar tools, to let you do the hard work of determining what you are doing here on this big rock flying through a vacuum alongside billions of other yous asking the same question - hoping for an answer.

My biggest fear?

It's that we all find ourselves lying on our death bed with tears in our eyes wondering if the world is any different as a result of us living a few short years doing the best we could to leave a legacy.

My Measure of Success?

It's to leave a legacy of faith in Jesus. All other legacies are temporary! A legacy of faith is eternal.

What kind of life we'll live and what kinds of things we'll do to ensure that Jesus is known by others is what will REALLY matter in the end.

How Do We Leave the Right Legacy?

Now that's a great question!

We most effectively leave the right legacy when we have fully discovered and are leveraging God's carefully planned design for our life. The one Paul was talking about when he said:

For we are His (God's) WORKMANSHIP, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which He PREPARED BEFOREHAND so that we would walk in them - Ephesians 2:10

You may disagree with those last few sentences. It's OK. It requires a lot to embrace the responsibility of living into God's plan for your life. It can be scary. However, I believe when we've found that place, we will have the most rewarding and fulfilling life possible on this side of eternity.

I believe if you invest in these lessons for the next 4-6 weeks with a good attitude and diligent work, your life will look very different in 3-6 months.

Journey at your own pace, but don't get bogged down for an extended period of time or in all likelihood, you'll never finish the race. I'll be with you along the way and I look forward to seeing your determination and growth through the process.
